On Tuesday, September 5th, the Trump administration officially announced ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or the DACA program, which gave undocumented young adults who were brought to the United States as children and grew up Americans work authorization and protection from deportation.
If you are currently a DACA recipient and your DACA expires between September 5, 2017 and March 5, 2018, then you MUST submit a renewal application before October 5, 2017 to stay in status.
To support the immigrant community at this time of need, Torregoza Legal will be participating in a FREE DACA Legal Clinic hosted by the Western Queens Immigrant Coalition to be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10am-2pm at Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement House, 10-25 41st Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101, (718) 784-7447 ext. 121.
The FREE DACA Renewal Clinic will offer community members with free sessions with a lawyer and legal workers who will provide assistance with DACA renewals.
